How a Small Broken Plastic Part Completely Disabled My Triumph Scrambler and Cost over $1000 to Fix

I like the way this 2024 Triumph Scrambler 400X rides, but unfortunately, one little spill off-road rendered it completely useless. I took it to the Dealer and went through insurance because the cost just to get it running again was outrageous. A Tiny little broken plastic piece around the key made it no longer start, and the dealer made me buy the entire key and immobilizer system; only the dealer can program the immobilizer system to the ECU. I do now realize I could have bought the whole kit and installed the key pick-up ring myself, but this still would have cost around $500, which is still insane. Hope you enjoy my rant about how easy these modern motorcycles are to damage and render them unusable. I would suggest buying a bike that does not have an immobilizer system unless you need something with a lot of security. Thanks for watching!
