“Bring It On Down” was the seventh track on the Oasis debut album “Definitely Maybe” released on 29 August 1994. It was initially intended to be the debut single, but that ended up being “Supersonic” instead. Noel has cited this song as “a tribute to The Stooges, the MC5 and punk rock”. The no-frills production, thick-sounding, full-on distorted guitars, fast tempo, political undercurrent, and references to class struggle in the lyrics make this feel like a genuine punk rock song.

The lead guitar in this classic, like most of Noel's early playing, is relatively straightforward and is based mainly around the B Pentatonic minor scale, along with some double stops and pick scrapes. The biggest challenge for most beginners will be keeping up with the speed. As always, start slow and increase the tempo gradually as you improve accuracy.
