#TBT: World Champs Yazdani and Gazyumov Clash at World Cup

In a matchup that featured a combined nine world and three Olympic medals, Reza YAZDANI (IRI) defeated GAZYUMOV (AZE), two periods to none, and helped Iran edge Azerbaijan in the gold-medal match of the ’12 Baku World Cup. Iran won the dual 4-3 and claimed its first World Cup title since ’06 and fifth overall (’96, ’98, ’01, '06 and '12).

The trio of winners who joined Yazdani on Iran’s golden night were Hasan RAHIMI (IRI), Mehdi TAGHAVI and Sadegh GOUDARZI (IRI).
