Thomas Peter Odell is an English singer-songwriter. He released his debut extended play, Songs from Another Love, in 2012. It won the BRITs Critics' Choice Award in early 2013. Odell's debut studio album, Long Way Down, was issued on 24 June 2013.
A British singer/songwriter with a keen sense for both atmosphere and melody, Tom Odell's piano-led odes to heartache and pain are emotional, raw, and often hushed affairs that evoke names like Leonard Cohen and Jeff Buckley. His acclaimed 2012 debut EP earned him a BRITs Critics' Choice award, and his first full-length outing, 2013's Long Way Down, reached number one on the U.K. albums chart. Odell recorded his next two releases in New York and Los Angeles before returning home to London for 2018's intimate Jubilee Road and 2021's dark, electro-pop-leaning monsters. His stripped-down fifth album, The Best Day of My Life, appeared in 2022.

Aurora Aksnes, known mononymously as Aurora, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and record producer. Born in Stavanger and raised in the towns of Høle and Os, she began writing her first songs and learning dance at the age of six.
British singer-songwriter Tom Odell teamed up with Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA to release a new song “Butterflies” on January 27, 2023.
This marks the first collaboration between Tom Odell and AURORA.
The song is his first music since his fifth studio album “Best Day of My Life”, which was released last October.
It was written by Tom Odell, Aurora Aksnes, Laurie Blundell, and Jonny Coffer.
Tom Odell said of the song, “I have been a fan of Aurora and her music for many years and it was a dream come true to make this song together. It's a song about spending the day with somebody you really like and at the end of the day having to say goodbye to them, not knowing if you will ever see them again, but being happy for the experience regardless.”
