Chopping Hay! With John Deere 4055 & New Holland FP230 Chopper

Here's a video of us chopping haylage about a week back. The hay that we are chopping was third crop, and we had merged it 2-into-1 prior to chopping (See the merging here: https://youtu.be/2u8IXbOSU0w ) It definitely makes for better chopping, with the thicker windrows and less ground to cover. Being used is our John Deere 4055 and New Holland FP230. The Miller-Pro wagons are getting pulled by John Deere 2355.
It seems that farmers vary quite a bit when it comes to the number of annual crops they take off of a hay field. I know dairy farmers that never take off more than two crops a year, and others who target six a year. For us, three a year has become our target.
The field we were chopping was originally planted in 2011 and is Dairyland 2400 alfalfa, which has definitely proved itself as a strong producer.
