Acting Reel - Meredith Aleigha Wells

Meredith Aleigha Wells (they/them) is a Chicago-based musical theatre artist, writer, educator and content creator. Most recently, Meredith made their national tour debut performing the role of Punky in Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas the Musical, marking the first performance in a national tour by a wheelchair user. In 2017, they performed their original one-person musical, Dysfunctioning Just Fine at the My True Colors Festival in New York City, where they received the Purple Skies Playwright Award. Meredith has performed in productions at Rec Room Arts (Laura Wingfield, Blue Roses), the Beck Center (Ugly Duckling, Shrek), Mercury Theatre Company (Sasha, Soho Cinders), Blank Canvas Theater, and Cleveland Public Theatre. They have also made appearances as a dancer and instrumentalist at Dance St. Louis, The Abilities Expo, OHIODance Festival, Boston Symphony Hall, Playhouse Square, Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Luminous Festival, China’s first-ever disability-led arts festival in Beijing China. In 2016, they created their Youtube channel, where they continue to spread chronic illness awareness and help others through sharing their experience as a queer disabled performer.
