Essential tools and working on cars while living in an apartment

I thought I'd share some some of the basic tools that I, as a at-home mechanical enthusiast, feel are either essential or very helpful when working on cars, boats, and engines at home. I know there are many MANY opinions on tool brands, and if I had a bunch of spare cash for a full set of Snap On or Mac tools I'd definitely get myself some. I just wanted to show off some of the more wallet friendly tools that I have used over the years for quite a few projects.

Second, due to my job, I am in the process of looking for a new apartment, and relocating. This got me thinking about all the times in the past that I have done fairly extensive repairs in apartments where I did not have access to a garage.
