The University of California, Berkeley: Charter Day Celebration

The University of California first came into existence on March 23rd 1868, when the Organic act "to create and organize the University of California," was signed into law. Since that day, the University of California system has contributed enormously to advances in all fields. At the University of California, Berkeley we still celebrate this day. UC Berkeley is one of the premier research institutions, best public Universities, and strongest athletic programs in the nation. It is because of our tremendous accomplishments that we pay tribute to our chartering.
