Misty In Roots - System Own Dem, Babylon Control Dem

Originaly produced in 1977 and released in 1986.
Misty In Roots where formed in Southall in '75 as a backing group to the singer Nicky Thomas.
By 1978 they had found their own sound and where touring as a solo group. Their 1st live session was in Belgium March 31 and April 1, 1979 and that was to become their celebrated album »Live At The Counter Eurovision«.
The 11th of April, the same year they played in Gothenburg, Sweden, this concert came to be their ultra rare first album release. At the concert the 7" single »One Six Penny« & »Oh Wicked Man« was given out as handouts to the audience. Together with the 12" disco »See Them A Come« b/w »How Long Jah Jah« (People Unite) it was oficialy their absolute first release.

Their second live album (»Live at the Counter Eurovision«) followed shortly after the »Misty Over Sweden« release and was a huge success remaining for 4 months on the »Black Music« reggae LP charts in 1980. It was even dubbed one of the best three British reggae albums ever recorded, and furthermore the group was also voted the seventh best reggae band in the »Black Music« magazine readers poll.
