Ham Radio in North Yorkshire - On the Moors and in the Dales

In this video about Amateur (Ham) Radio I ventured onto the North Yorkshire Moors and The Dales to play radio.

My journey started by spending the night at Morecombe near Blackpool then off to meet a friend at the Tan Hill Inn. Britain's highest Inn. Then Off to see Ribblehead viaduct. Hundreds of railway builders (“navvies”) lost their lives building the line, from a combination of accidents, fights, and smallpox outbreaks. In particular, building the Ribblehead (then Batty Moss) viaduct, with its 24 massive stone arches 104 feet (32 metres) above the moor, caused such loss of life that the railway paid for an expansion of the local graveyard.

That night I stayed at the lovely village of Settle ready for a visit to "The Shack" https://www.facebook.com/shackonthill/
