What began as a family dispute has now become one of Bengaluru's most shocking crime stories.

According to police, 25-year-old Shwetha has been detained in Puducherry in connection with the murder of her father Somasundar (55), mother Muthulakshmi (48), and younger sister Supriya (20). The three were found dead with multiple stab injuries inside an apartment at Sai Green Apartments in Seegehalli, Bengaluru.

Investigators suspect family tensions over Shwetha's live-in relationship with Kenneth, along with alleged financial stress and loans reportedly worth around ₹30 lakh, may have played a role in the events leading up to the killings.

Police sources believe Muthulakshmi may have been the first victim. Somasundar and Supriya were allegedly called to the apartment later, where they were also attacked. Somasundar reportedly managed to run outside seeking help but later succumbed to his injuries.

Shwetha has now been detained and is expected to be brought to Bengaluru for further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, Kenneth remains absconding, and search operations are continuing across Karnataka and neighboring states.
