Johnny O'Keefe - I Love You So Much It Hurts (Dan's 2026 Stereo Mix)

Australian rock and pop singer Johnny O'Keefe was born in 1935 in Bondi Junction, New South Wales, and started his career in the early 1950's as an impersonator of Johnnie Ray, the American vocalist who had an enormous amount of success in the Australian market. in 1955, he saw the film "Blackboard Jungle", and watched Bill Haley and His Comets perform "Rock Around The Clock", and from this point on made it a point to perform this kind of music.

by 1960, O'Keefe was highly popular in Australia both on record and television. This LP, "About Love" shows a different side of his talents. Backed by an orchestra and chorus, he sings amazing pop standards.

From this LP, we have "I Love You So Much It Hurts", performed by countless country and pop acts since it original composition in 1948 by Floyd Tillman. This arrangement closely mirrors the version utilized by Ray Charles for his version, recorded not long before this one. The LP appears to have seen only a mono release, so I hope you enjoy this new stereo attempt.
