alright, lots of you were asking about the ashstar au so here you go.

to start off, hawk and ash are obvs in love because cmon, you know me- what else did you expect but me shoehorning hawkash into every single project of mine.
however the au mostly diverges at the fox trap where instead of going to warn the clan, ashfur stays and watches the confrontation between hawkfrost and brambleclaw as backup in case something goes wrong
(leafpool and squirrelflight are already on their way due to leafpool’s semi-vision, but it will take them a lot longer to arrive since they don’t know where or what is happening).
when brambleclaw sinks the fox trap into hawkfrost’s throat, ashfur jumps out of the bushes, tackling brambleclaw and managing to kill him after a short tussle.
he sits by hawkfrost as he dies, promising to get revenge on all of thunderclan before turning around and attacking firestar.
leafpool and squirrelflight come upon the scene, seeing hawkfrost, brambleclaw and firestar dead. ashfur manages to convince them that brambleclaw betrayed the clan by killing firestar and turning on his brother before ashfur managed to intervene and stop the madness by killing him.
shocked and grieving the loss of both their deputy and their leader (something thunderclan hasn’t seen in many moons), the clan votes ashfur in as the new leader of thunderclan.
