The Devil Loves Pride more than Empathy. Remember that always.

There are those who search for evil in the shadows beneath the earth. Yet often, it stands plainly among us, not with horns or thunder, but wherever love has been abandoned and human compassion has gone cold.

For pride slowly teaches people to look away from the suffering of others. And where humility once opened hearts, ego closes them like iron doors. As Scripture warns, “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18

Then division follows close behind. Communities fracture. Neighbors become strangers. Fear replaces understanding, and gossip becomes easier than grace. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Moreover, lies begin to wear the clothing of truth. Cruelty disguises itself as strength. Mercy is mocked as weakness. And still the soul grows quieter each time it refuses to feel another person’s pain.

Meanwhile, fear settles into people like smoke. It teaches them to distrust, to harden themselves, to forget that God did not give humanity a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

And so resentment blooms where forgiveness should have lived. Violence speaks where peace once had a voice. Even false righteousness appears, shining brightly while empty of compassion.

For evil rarely announces itself honestly. More often, it arrives dressed in pride, wrapped in greed, and carried by hearts that have forgotten how to love one another.

Yet heaven has always begun in the same small and sacred place: when one person chooses mercy over cruelty, truth over deception, and love over self.

Therefore, stay awake. Guard your spirit carefully. Because the absence of empathy is where darkness first learns to breathe.
