Short strangle is a credit strategy unlike Long strangle here the investor instead of buying (Out of The Money) OTM call & Put options with a different strike for Nifty with the same Expiry ; the Investor sells both the options and receives the premium hence it is called a credit strategy

Short strangles are effective when the out look for the asset (nifty) is neutral or sideways in high volatility where a sharp upward or downward trend is expected this strategy will incur loss , here nifty should not break out of the range; should be within the specified range to gain from both the legs.
