Le Festin from "Ratatouille" // Piano Cover

It's been a while!

Why have I been gone so long? My first excuse is that I was moving house - that took up most of the summer, and when I found someone to ship the piano I had to wait for my tuner to not be busy, and then I was busy -- a bunch of things came one after another, but they were mostly good things!

Except for doge who had some problems and now has one shorter ear after an unfortunate incident with another dog 😔 He's doing alright now though!

So to sum up: same piano, same pianist, same dog, new place!

Funnily enough I have still been practicing daily. I fell into a Rachmaninoff phase, as I sometimes do, and in general played a lot of classical for myself. But that also meant that when I suddenly had the chance to record again I had nothing ready! Only really played old things when it came to covers, and arranging a long form medley would take, once again, forever. No point in prolonging the hiatus, I thought, so I picked this as a nice piece to ease back into the swing of recording.

I played kno's arrangement because I liked it the most (a little slower to be more in time with the original) but there are a few chromatic parts in it that were SO uncomfortable to play oh my! I really didn't think it would give me so much trouble. There are some mistakes most notably in the left hand because I focused on those tricky bits in the right too much, but I'll let them slide. Recording took 5 hours! That's a long time for me, especially considering how short it is!

Anyway, hopefully I'll get back to arranging soon! I'm intently looking at Arcane S2 👀 and at its music 👀
