Find length of loop in linked list | Floyd’s algorithm explained

In this video, we learn how to find the length of a loop in a linked list using Floyd’s Cycle Detection Algorithm. After detecting a cycle using the fast and slow pointer technique, we calculate the exact number of nodes involved in the loop.

We first detect whether a cycle exists. Once both pointers meet, we keep one pointer fixed and move the other until it completes one full round to count the loop length.

This problem is commonly asked as an extension of detect cycle in linked list and is important for coding interviews and placement preparation.

We cover:

detecting cycle using floyd’s algorithm

counting nodes inside the loop

time and space complexity analysis

Perfect for dsa and linked list interview preparation.
