Step 1. Open the Venmo app, and then open the profile screen for the user you want to block. If you're not friends with someone, you can do this by tapping "Home" and then "Search," searching for that person and then tapping their name in the list of search results. Or, if you're friends with the person you want to block, just tap "Me," your current Venmo friends, and then tap the name of the person you want to block.

Step 2. Tap the ellipses at the top of this screen to open a menu, and then tap "Block" in this menu. A window pops up asking if you want to block this user, and letting you know that if you move forward you won't be able to pay each other through Venmo, view each other's future payments, view or interact with each other's profiles, and that if you're in a group with this user you'll be removed automatically. And finally, you'll be advised that when you block this user, they won't be notified.

Step 3. Tap "Block" again. That user will be blocked in Venmo going forward.
