❌ Stop going off program to randomly test your maxes

If you’re running a hypertrophy block where you’re doing sets of 12-15, if you randomly go for a 1 RM your body is not adapted and optimized to hitting heavy singles It’s not going to be a good test of what you can actually do bc your body isn’t prepped for a 1 rm and you will have a ton of unrealized strength

Instead, If you are running good a good program structure and you actually want to test your 1RM, run a strength phase. Get your body optimized for hitting bigger weights at lower rep ranges and test it that way

Then you won’t be sad in comparison to when you randomly max 😉
