Elvis Presley - Scene from "Follow that Dream" (Mirisch Company 1962)

Another fine little scene from what has become one of my top 3 favorite movies by Elvis. A straight comedy at last! His only one. And a real movie. With two times Academy Award nominee Arthur O'Connell by his side Elvis not only delivers one of the best performances of his career but also proves true acting talent. I absolutely love the moment when Holly believes she's had an idea when it's actually Toby who comes up with it. The way he asks "I have?" and the look on his face at the end of the scene show that Elvis in fact understood the character of the - at first sight - naive or even "dumb" hillbilly. Elvis develops the role and in this scene almost transcends it. Also great of course is Arthur O'Connell as the family's patriarch: "Ain't nobody can thread a family got its own private john..." :)

If you get the opportunity to watch "Follow that Dream", do so. It's a really great little film and there're certainly more scenes that I will eventually upload here on YouTube.
