THE SIGHT & THE SOUND : Flight onboard The Flying Bulls DC-6B N996DM from Berlin (SXF) to Salzburg

I was scheduled to return onboard Vallentuna Aviatörförening "Congo Queen" DC-3 9Q-CUK back from the ILA in Berlin to Stockholm, when I received an irresistable offer to join a flight onboard The Flying Bulls DC-6B, N996DM, the former Yugoslav Air Force and Presidential Aircraft of Tito back to Salzburg.

I did not think twice and thanks to Lutz Schönfeld, Raimund Riedmann and a fantastic Team of The Flying Bulls I was about to experience a flight onboard a 1958 year built DC-6.

After a few display flights at the end of a successful and spectacular ILA show we returned onboard N996DM at around 6 PM in beautiful evening sun light.

We were accompanied by the Lockheed P-38 “Lightning” N25Y and The North American B-25J “Mitchell” N6123C all the way from Berlin to Salzburg.

The Flying Bulls DC-6 impresses by State-of-the-Art Technology and surprisingly quiet and smoothly running motors.

On request of The Flying Bulls I removed all images and footages of the cabin interior onboard.

This is my homage to a great Airliner and a great Team.

Enjoy with me the Sights & Sounds of Classic Aviation.
Thank you for watching my channel.

History of McDonnell Douglas DC-6B N996DM

N996DM was leased to The Flying Bulls, based in Salzburg, Austria.

The Flying Bulls is a private company owned by the aviation enthusiast Dietrich Mateschitz.

N996DM was registered OE-LDM on July 11, 2013 and is appearing in many airshows throughout Europe promoting the brand of the energy drink Red Bull.
