Gyroid (128 bytes)
Winner of the 128-byte high-end competition at Lovebyte 2021.
The complement to the gyroid surface (also called the srs net or triamond) is expressed as a distance function:
f(X,Y,Z) ≈ 0.7 − 0.2 |sinX⋅cosY + sinY⋅cosZ + sinZ⋅cosX|.
Then it's rendered with sphere tracing (raymarching with variable steps based on the current distance estimation).
