Swissport to acquire Swiftair Maroc, enters Morocco cargo market

Swissport has signed a binding agreement to acquire Swiftair Maroc, marking its entry into Morocco’s air cargo market and strengthening its presence at Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport, a key regional freight hub.

The deal gives Swissport access to Swiftair Maroc’s 3,700 sqm airside warehouse equipped with temperature-controlled facilities, including cold storage for pharmaceuticals and perishable goods. It strengthens the company’s ability to handle high-value and sensitive cargo.

The acquisition aligns with Swissport’s global strategy to expand its cargo business and leverage Morocco’s strategic position as a gateway between Europe, Africa, and the Americas, supporting growing export industries like automotive, aerospace, agriculture, and textiles.
