Google's algorithm is a game-changer for small business owners. Social media has been a great way to attract new clients and customers to my business, but in recent years, the algorithm has changed, making it harder to get my content seen online. However, by focusing on long-term blogging and content creation, I've been able to reap the rewards.

The main reason Google's algorithm is so powerful for small businesses is because it's search-based, unlike Instagram's social algorithm. Instagram's algorithm is designed to keep users on the app for as long as possible, whereas Google's algorithm helps users find the most relevant content to their search query and leave the search engine.

Google's algorithm also doesn't have to guess what kind of content I'm interested in because I'm telling it through the keywords I use in my search. This means that when I create valuable content, I know that it's reaching the right audience, who are likely searching for the exact information I'm providing.

I also appreciate how long my content can rank on Google, as opposed to Instagram where the content becomes "dead" after a certain period of time. The most popular post on my blog brought in almost 2000 people last week alone, and I wrote it in the beginning of 2021. This means it's been consistently bringing new people to my site for over two years now.
