Ecuador Residency Visas: LOTS of CHANGES (Feb 2021)
Ecuador is one of the most popular expat destinations in the world, and one reason for that is because the government has made it very easy to qualify for a temporary resident visa in Ecuador.
The government and most Ecuadorians appreciate expats from the United States and other developed countries because they pump money into the economy without competing for jobs.
It's estimated that expats (aka immigrants) spend more than $500 MILLION each year in Ecuador, which is a considerable source of income for the country that funds businesses, creates jobs and contributes to sales taxes.
There are several types of Ecuador temporary residency visas and many of them can be converted to permanent residency visas after 2 years. And a LOT of the rules have recently changed that make it even easier to qualify.
Maité Duran from GringoVisas.com stopped by to tell us about the most popular expat visas in Ecuador, as well as explain all the recent rule changes.
