♡♡♡ THE INSTRUCTIONS! ♡♡♡
DIY Tufted Headboard

You will need:

-Foam poster boards or cardboard, about 3' high and the width of your bed (twin:38", queen 60”, king: 76" wide)
-Packing tape/duct tape
-Scissors
-Batting, Queen-King size with medium-hi loft, for a thick, plush look, in fabric section of most craft stores or online (I got mine for $12 from Joann's Craft store with a 60% off coupon: https://amzn.to/2C5H4fz
-Fabric of your choice, 2 yards (I got mine for $6 from Joann's Craft store with a 60% off coupon!): https://www.joann.com/roc-lon-budget-blackout-ivory-white/7962640.html#q=black%2Bout%2Bcurtain&start=1
-Iron
-Measuring tape/pen
-Needle and upholstery/heavy duty thread: https://amzn.to/2LMqyAJ
-Glue gun, optional
-Crystal Upholstery Buttons, 25mm (22 total, 4 rows of 5, 6, 5, 6. I got a pack for $7.40): https://amzn.to/2PUDR5d
-Velcro for attaching to the wall

Directions:

Tape poster boards or cardboard together, so it is about 4' tall and the width of your bed )For my queen bed, I did four 20"x30" poster boards from the 99c store, taped together)

Cut into any shape, if desired. I cut scallops out of the top corners
Layer the batting on top and loosely tape down to the back of the poster

Iron your fabric, to get out any wrinkles and tape over the batting, to the back of the poster

Use a measuring tape or ruler, to mark on the back of the poster, where you want your buttons to be (I did 7" in between each button vertically and 8" in between horizontally, to create a tufted diamond pattern)

Sew tufts up through the poster/batting/fabric and back down, pulling fairly tight, to create the tufted look, knotting at the back (I also put packing tape over each knot on the back of the poster for extra security)

Sew or hot glue your buttons on top of each tuft

Glue scrap pieces of poster on to back, to attach velcro strips
Stick to wall
