On Board with Dee Caffari - UK Double Handed Offshore Series

The biggest fleet in this year's Rolex Fastnet Race is the doublehanded class. Shorthanded sailing has been increasing steadily with the global pandemic accelerating that growth. So, at PlanetSail we thought it was time to get a series underway that follows the grwoth in this exciting part of the sport. Thanks to Sea Ventures, who have been one of the key players behind the scenes, we will be running regular features on this exciting part of the racing world.
Among the wide range of sailors that have thrown themselves into this is round the world record holder and solo sailor Dee Caffari. She will be sailing with co-skipper/owner of their Sun Fast 3300 'Gentoo' James Harayda and will be producing a video diary throughout a campaign that culminates with the Rolex Fastnet Race.
So, to kick things off Matt Sheahan went to talk to Dee to find out more about their boat and their campaign. Plus, Dee reports on how she and James got on in the first of the six event UK Double Handed Offshore Series.
