Single use plastic straws are being discontinued, certainly here in the UK, and replaced to some extent by paper straws. However Tim has been exploring other types of straws.

He has a set of metal straws, which come with a special very thin brush so you can clean your straws after use.

Tim remembers seeing wooden or maybe bamboo straws somewhere, but doesn't have any examples in his collection.

But recently, he came across some plastic straws with a neat trick. After you have used the straw, you can open it up along its length, and clean the inside. You can then seal it up again, ready for the next time.

A mystery object. What is it? A bullet? A tube of lip salve? No, it is an unusual ballpoint pen.

Finally, a 'slip and stick' toy, with a stork that descends down a thin stick, carrying a baby in a blanket, and delivering it to the house down below.
