The Awkward Truth about Mason and Vertex Pedals

So Mason over at Vertex Pedals does have a bit of a history which I think he has publicly apologised for, and probably forgiveness is a thing, and he seems to be doing alright anyway? Anyway, he uploaded a video yesterday about NUX cloning the Vertex Steel String, and a comparison where he showed the difference in tone. Awkwardly enough, he didn't look at the schematics - and here's the other awkward thing - they didn't clone HIS pedal...

Anyway, the ethics aside, I thought it was quite an interesting little saga, and Paul C, inventor of the Timmy, has quite a wise take on the whole situation anyway which is worth reading...
