Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke—Mokou's theme!

I love the drastic mood shifts in this one. It gets very intense, yet it provides beautiful clearings to not overwhelm the listener. The key changes also offer a new perspective and colour to the main theme, which keeps it fresh and enable this constant sense of progression. I adore how Zun inverts the melody back and forth at the end, too. I thought that was very clever.

I thought it'd be interesting to turn this one into a duet, as I think no one else has tried to before. I also made a few original additions! I wrote a few transitions and an original countermelody for the coda, which I'm very satisfied about haha. The original piece is quite dense, so I actually had to take out certain bits at some points to accomodate for a duet, but I don't think it's noticeable as the parts I chose to cut were rather quiet in the original anyways.
