Home Studio Set Up.

A behind the scenes look at my home studio set up. Here you can see an example of what a home studio might look like for you.

My father in law and I built this space in my garage. It's roughly 11'x16' and features unique construction to help reduce the noise transfer to the rest of my house.

Essentially this is a room within a room design. The walls feature wider top and bottom plates with a faring strip. This strip is attached to the top and bottom plate with an vibration resistant adhesive. The studs are staggered so that the front of the wall never makes contact with the back.

The walls are finished with 5/8 drywall again with a layer of vibration resistant sealant applied between the drywall sheets and the panels are overlapped so the seams are covered.

The floor is floating and the ceiling is suspended.
The sound panels are 1 x 4 pine frame with safe and sound insulation inside covered by speaker cloth.

It's not intended to be sound proof. It's designed to make the sound tolerable for my family:)

Come and see where I work as well as some of the gear I use to make my music and Youtube videos.
