LEDA Clocks Trailer - A very quick taste of my mechanical wall clocks. All clocks are gravity driven via a weight with time keeping regulated by a swinging pendulum as per traditional clocks first invented in the mid 1600’s. All clocks are made using the highest quality materials specially selected for their reliability and stability. To add a level of fine detail that adds character and brings the theme of the clock to life, marquetry, veneer layering and laser engraving is used. All clocks are designed and made to order by myself, Darren Simmons at my small studio in the UK. Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.

Limited Edition & Made To Order - All clocks are Limited Edition meaning that only a certain number of each design will be made. Each year a small batch will be released until the Limited Edition number has been reached. All clocks are made to order, cut, hand finished, and assembled just for you.

Building Your Clock - The process of building your mechanical clock comprises of the following 6 key stages, laser cutting, marquetry, sanding, finishing, assembly and test. With at least 606 individual parts in each clock and a fair testing phase the whole process takes around 3 weeks to complete.

Make It Personal With An Engraved Message - A personalised message on the pendulum bob is a great way to add that extra special touch, especially when purchased as a gift, and it comes at no extra cost.

Fine Detail With Marquetry & Laser Engraving - The use of marquetry and laser engraving on our clocks provides a level of fine detail that adds character and brings the theme of the clock to life.

High Quality Bearings - To ensure smooth and reliable transmission of power from the weight pulley, through the gear train, to the escapement shaft, high quality sealed ball bearings are used. Sealed bearings are pre-packed with grease giving maintenance free operation for the life of the bearing. In areas where ball bearings are not required (i.e clock hand assembly), low friction, maintenance free IGUS plain bearings are used.
