4K Walking abandoned railway: DOURO, Portugal 4K Ultra HD ASMR - Walk #2

Enjoy a spectacular and unique walking tour on the abandoned railway of the Linha do Douro train line, in the north of Portugal. I've always wanted to walk on this abandoned railway, and my first experience was in Abandoned Railroad Walk #1 (linked below), walking east from the abandoned train station of Almendra. The day after I recorded this first video, I went back to Linha do Douro, but started at the abandoned train station of Côa, and walked around 3Kms west. As in walk #1, the experience was breathtaking: no one around, just me, the abandoned tracks and the Douro river. I enjoyed spectacular views over the river and the Douro Vineyards Valley, where Port Wine grapes are grown. Along the way, I visited abandoned railway houses and stations, and enjoyed many Zen striking moments, where the sounds of birds, water and also the silence was all around me.
This is quite an impressive Zen Walk. Enjoy it with your headphones, to be fully immersed in the 3D ASMR audio 🎧 😊

To get to the abandoned Côa train station, one has to drive for about 10 minutes on a 5Km sinuous road, from the village of Vila Nova de Foz Côa down to the river bed (Douro river), along which this incredible train line was constructed. It construction started in 1875 and it was concluded in 1887, with the station of Barca d'Alva and the connection to the Spanish station of La Fregeneda. This railroad line afforded stunning views over the Douro Wine Region Valley, for all its extension.
A 29 Km portion of it is abandoned since 1988.

Far north in a mountainous area of the country, Trás-os-Montes was known for being difficult to get to, with sinuous roads and hours of travel to withstand. In recent years, roads have been redesigned, and highways have been constructed, making this area much more accessible to visitors. Its beauty is quite surprising, with its stunning mountains and rivers - Douro River is one of them, creating what is know as the Douro Wine Region Valley, where steeply sloping terraced vineyards cover around 24,600 ha (UNESCO - Alto Douro Wine Region).
