Meet adoptable Spike Bentley, a tiny dog with a surprisingly big presence and the kind of confidence that makes him feel ready for absolutely anything. He is curious, capable, social, and fully convinced life is better when he gets to be included in it.

In this video, you’ll see Spike trotting through the world with his signature head-high confidence, greeting people and dogs with easy charm, and showing off the bright, bubbly personality that makes him such a fun little companion. Watch for his alert ears, busy-body curiosity, and the way he moves through new situations like a seasoned professional with places to be and a schedule to keep.

Spike is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 17 lbs. Rescue rules apply, so breed and age are our best guess. We suspect he may be a Chihuahua mix with a whole lot of “tiny adventurer” energy mixed in. He is social with other dogs, polite with kids, comfortable meeting men, and handled busy environments with impressive confidence and ease. Spike would thrive with someone who wants an active little companion for walks, errands, patio hangs, road trips, and everyday life. He is not much of a “carry me everywhere” small dog and prefers freedom, movement, and being part of the action.
