Home Assistant on Synology inside Docker - #001

In this first episode of Home Assistant series I will be guiding you on how to install docker package, prepare for Home Assistant Core and of course install and run home assistant - best Smart Home system in my personal opinion.

I wish to thank Tecom Trade (http://tecomtrade.hr/), local Synology partner for borrowing me this device to film this series.

Terminal Emulator - PuTTY
--------------------
For connecting via SSH, you will need terminal application, and I use for this Putty. Download link is:
https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html

00:00 Intro

02:48 - Enable SSH service

03:14 - Connect and login via terminal emulator (Putty in my case)

06:19 - Create folder for permanent Home Assistant files:

mkdir /volume1/docker/home-assistant

08:20 - Download, install and start Home Assistant in Docker.

sudo docker run -id --name="home-assistant" --restart on-failure -p 8123:8123 -e "TZ=Europe/Zagreb" --net=host -v /volume1/docker/home-assistant:/config -v /usr/syno/etc/certificate/system/default:/certificate homeassistant/home-assistant

It can take couple of minutes for download to finish, extract data and install it.
Don't forget to customize any data such as folder or time zone.
