Aci Trezza and Tuna Recipe #Sicily

On this episode of You, Me and Sicily we take you to Aci Trezza in the province of Catania. We'll take you on a historical and gastronomic tour of this small village on the Eastern coast of Sicily . The patron saint is San Giovanni Battista celebrated in June and there is a swordfish festival weeks leading up to it. The town is featured in the book I Malavoglia by Giovanni Verga and later in the movie based on the book La Terra Trema by Luchino Visconti. First stop visiting the fish market then we go to some restaurants by the water and get a cooking demo on how to make Sicilian Swordfish. This simple dish uses caramelized onion and mint. We also meet with our friends to speak about the future of Sicily .
We finish off by sampling some granita.
