Calculus Limits 54: Extreme Value Theorem

In this short calculus video, we introduce the Extreme Value Theorem.

The theorem says that if a function is continuous on a closed interval [a, b], then it attains an absolute minimum and an absolute maximum on that interval.

We discuss the meaning of absolute minimum and absolute maximum values, and emphasize that the theorem guarantees existence but does not tell us how to find the points where these extreme values occur.
