Nakiri Ayame (百鬼あやめ) - Shoujo Rei / 少女レイ [ENG/JPN SUB]

I saw this song on Ayame's bilibili space, some folks from there mixed her singing with the original track, cutting out some talking. It turned out so good that I listened to it 2 days straight while working. The catch is - all my music is either on Spotify or YouTube. But when I searched for this song on YouTube, I couldn't find Ayame ver. at all, so I just decided to make one on my own. I don't like uploading just songs, so this time I tried to make something that I think qualifies as an MV(?) *Rant start* Anyhow, lesson learned - do not do MVs in Aegisub. Due to vertical JP subs, every punctuation sign got misplaced and I had to reposition it manually, re-rendering video every time to check placement. Aegisub is not for precise text styling. Also, I had to learn a new video editor since Vegas was messing up the color scheme on the final render and everything looked more bright. *Rant end*
The first idea was just to take the existing translation and roll with it, but it turned out to be old and pretty hit and miss in places, so in the end, my friends helped me to remake it. Huge thanks to Conspite and @blubsubs v for translating it and wording choices. Song translations are a whole another level.

Also huge thanks to YuTia for allowing me to use their artwork - without it, this MV wouldn't have been possible! Check them out here:

About the song - if you don't know Japanese, it's just a cheerful song. But, as it often happens with Japanese Vocaloid songs, the text is actually really, really deep. Vocaloid wiki met me with the banner saying song contains sensitive topics like su1c1de (YouTube-kun, spare me) and bullying. What a great start, huh? The lyrics completely blew me away at first and I went to check comments on the original song to see what ideas others got. As it often happens, people found even more underlying stuff in the lyrics. First, "the buzzing cicadas" may refer to soon d3ath, since adult cicadas live for only one week. Second, if you read song verses, excluding choruses in reverse order, you get another sensible story. Maybe even the original story, who knows. You can find verses in reversed order with wiki TL (since I arranged it several days before doing our own TL) here: https://pastebin.com/sPsteQNS
Perhaps there is more to this song, who knows.

Once again, thanks to Conspite, @blubsubs v, and the rest of yks team for the help with this MV.
Thanks to @blubsubs v for remastering the song.
