Meet Gukesh Dommaraju World's 2nd Youngest & India's Youngest Grand Master in Chess

Velammal school student Master Gukesh Dommaraju became World’s Second Youngest Grand Master and India's Youngest Grand Master in Chess.

Chennai, Mel Ayanambakkam, Velammal school student Master Gukesh Dommaraju on 15-01-2019 became the Second Youngest Chess Grandmaster in the world at the age of 12 years.
The prodigy achieved the landmark at Delhi Open 2019 chess tournament by scoring 7 points out of 9 rounds with 5 wins and 4 draws thereby becoming World 2nd Youngest GM in Chess history and India’s Youngest GM. He becomes GM at the age of 12 years 7 months and 17 days on 15th January 2019.

Mater Gukesh Dommaraju is well supported by his school Velammal Educational Trust in his journey to achieve these norms.
