So this was my 4th visit to Nubra Valley and I can still feel the freshness of this beautiful valley. Nubra Valley always give me peace. Especially Hunder, the camps are just awesome. Perfectly placed in a quite area next to huge mountains and sand dunes. At night you feel the cold breeze refreshes and energize your soul.

Anyway, so to my subscribers, this video is going to provide you a virtual drive from Leh to Nubra Valley. To be specific: Leh to Hunder. You will be crossing Khardung La at 5,359 m or 17,580 ft, claimed to be most highest motorable road in the world. At Khardung La, you have facilities like canteen for tea / food and free medical help provided by Indian Army. You will find snow at Khardung La most of the time, but usually in October / November when its super chilling there, the snow will be somehow less compared to June / July. More or less, Khardung La has always been a tourist attraction. After Crossing Khardung La, you will be descending down and entering Nubra Valley. The drive is going to be long and enjoyable especially if you have a cloudy weather because sun at this altitude can be a bit irritating for eyes / skin. In Nubra valley, there are 2 popular tourist destinations: Diskit and Hunder. I will be taking you to both. I will take you to the Diskit Monastery which is one of the oldest Monasteries in Nubra Valley. The I will take you to Maitreya Buddha statue, standing 32 meters tall and built in 14th century. Later, I will take you Diskit market just for a drive.

After that we will go to our final destination: Hunder and later Hunder Sand Dunes. You will really enjoy the drive inside Hunder. In middle of Himalayan desert at 10,000 feet, this green town is out of the world. Beautifully maintained and tourist friendly. People are very friendly and helpful. Later I will take you out for a camel ride at Hunder Sand Dunes. At Hunder Sand Dunes, you will find double hump camels. Double Hump camels are rare species and are found only in southwest Kazakhstan and the Nubra Valley in India.
