131 - Building Third Person Media: FSU Filmmakers on Freelancing, Branding & Staying Creative

The InNOLEvation® Mindset podcast, student Host Logan James interviews FSU student, filmmakers, and entrepreneurs Sam Correa and Juan Martinez about their paths into filmmaking and the creation of their media collective, Third Person Media. Sam discusses building a portfolio through high school TV production, collaborating with Juan on the documentary “Sodo,” his junior film “Jit” premiering at Miami Film Festival and screening at Florida Film Festival, and his senior capstone “The Soto” focused on kids’ mental health amid ICE pressure on immigrant communities. Juan shares his shift from live-broadcast TV production to narrative filmmaking at FSU and lessons from founding Aquila Entertainment, especially marketing and brand image. They explain how Tallahassee demand for event and artist content led to Third Person Media, preview a TMIC/DWF “Lovesick” documentary, plan to move to South Florida, and emphasize consistency, balance, and authenticity.
