Whole genome imaging for sensitive and accurate analysis of structural variations in cancer
Presented By: Sven Bocklandt, PhD
Speaker Biography: Dr. Sven Bocklandt is a human geneticist with a background in gene discovery. As Director of Scientific Affairs at Bionano Genomics, he focuses on the scientific discoveries made on the Bionano platform and is leading clinical validation studies on Bionano's performance in genetic disease and cancer diagnostics.
Webinar: Whole genome imaging for sensitive and accurate analysis of structural variations in cancer
Webinar Abstract: As a case in point, whole genome imaging has to date unraveled a number of genes never implicated in cancer and shown how they are affected by structural variations, along with deciphering novel structural variants. Hence, combining whole genome imaging with whole genome sequencing offers a strong integrative approach to understand small and large genomic variations in cancers.
