Onewheel XR Review - Worth it in 2021 ?

Thinking about buying a Onewheel XR in 2021 but worried they might release a new model ?

In this video I go over why I decided to purchase the Onewheel XR in 2021 and why I don't think it's worth waiting for a new model.

I plan on using this board to show the design, prototyping and manufacturing of custom accessories and modifications. I'm not an experienced rider by any means but there are definitely some immediate changes I am looking forward to making.

Pros
- Range is better than I was expecting. From 100% - 0% on the first charge with the new battery it clocked exactly 14km which was a mixture of pavement, grass and some nose dives.
- Durability - the build is definitely solid - will be messing around with this more as I take it apart and make some upgrades.
- Challenging - it feels like a skill which is nice. The Boosted Board got a little boring after about a month.

Cons
- Forgot to take the thumbnail while the board was brand new and clean.
- Feels a little sketchy going fast.. and if you fall.. its not going to be pretty.
- No battery swap or easy options for an extended battery.
- They very well could release a new model any moment.

Things I will be designing and making first !
- Rail Guards - after only the first couple rides there is some small scratches and tiny chips in the frame.
- Concave foot mount - feels a little slippery even with the grip tape and since the sensor is reading the input from your foot, this is probably the most important thing.
- Some sort of fender to prevent rocks and water from spraying off the wheel.
- Skid plates - protect the base of the Onewheel.

And yes these are all available from third party sellers already, it will be a good challenge to innovate on the existing technology and manufacturing techniques out there.
