The thing I love about working at PHX Architecture is the enthusiasm that everyone has for great architecture. It's like a family, everyone works well together. Everyone has the same passion, goals, and desires and that is to create spectacular architecture no matter what It might be.
What really excites me about architecture is the ability to take your conceptual idea and make it actual and then be able to see it built.
Architectural process its self is exciting, challenging, and at the same time ever changing. This is what I like about this field and I want to do that for the rest of my life.
My passion for architecture is consistently rejuvenated with every client that walks through our doors. Every client brings a new way of looking at the world, a new type of project, and a new idea that gets me excited all over again for the next project we will be working on.
One of my favorite things about working at PHX Architecture is working with a diverse staff. We probably have one of the most talented architecture teams on the west coast. We have the advantage of being able to do a wide range of projects, impart because of the diversity, experience, and the background of our staff.
We don’t really work on the same thing twice. It seems like we get a lot of diverse clients, diverse projects it's really exciting. It keeps everything fresh.
This is a career that has given me a lot of opportunity to meet new people, clients, especially my coworkers. It's great.
It's open, a warehouse type environment that allows all of us to be in the same room and working together in a very collaborative spirit.
It is everybody’s open-mindedness to new ideas and ability to listen and learn from each other.
We have a very diverse skill set here at the office from architects that have a very sustainable green background to architects that are very skilled in residential and architects that have a very commercial background. With this very diverse skill set, it allows us to really tackle any type of job that comes in the door.
At Phx Architecture, one of the things that we spend a lot of time on and talking about is how to bring that undefinable something to a project. There is a special feeling that you get when you walk into a well-designed project. It's not about the style, it’s not about the person who designed it, it's not even about the people who might be using it. It's somehow we all recognize when that happens and everybody in this office has a passion for trying to discover what that it.
We achieve that by really listening to our clients. It’s a skill that I have pawned over the year and really be able to take the qualities of our client’s real desires and put them down on paper and create that as architectural space.
We are just looking for those opportunities to do more and more types of project and bring that special something to all that work that’s out there.
