Pakistan Travel Rohtas Fort 2021. I am traveling in Pakistan by road. In this video, I am walking in Rohtas fort. especially in Stepwell. It is called Baoli. I am traveling on Grand Trunk Road. Rohtas Fort is located in the Jhelum district. It is 23 Km from Jhelum City. It is a link road leading to Mirpur Azad Jammu and Kashmir but Rohts Fort road is few meters ahead. The fortress is 8 Km from G T Road. geographically Rohtas Fort is located in Pothohar Plateau. It is a 16th Century fortress. It fort was built by Raja Mal on the orders of Sher Shah Suri in 1541. Its circumference is about 4 Km. It fort was captured by many rulers as Mughal, Maratha, Nader Shah, Ahmed Shah Abdali, Sikhs, and British but Rohtas Fort is never been sieged. Now It is a Unesco heritage site. I recommend before walking in the Fort, Take some water or soft drink. The fort was designed to block the advances of Mughal emperor Humayun, who had been exiled to Persia following his defeat at the Battle of Kannauj. The fort occupies a strategic position between the mountainous region of Afghanistan and the plains of Punjab and was intended to prevent the Mughal emperor from returning to India. The fort was also designed to suppress the local Gakhar tribes of the Potohar region. The Gakhar tribes were allies of the Mughal Empire. Sher Shah Suri was the founder of the Suri Empire in India. With its capital in Sasaram Bihar, he ruled for 5 years. A brilliant strategist, Sher Shah proved himself as a gifted Muslim administrator as well as a capable general. His reorganization of the empire laid the foundations for the later Mughal emperors, notably Akbar, son of Humayun. During his 5 year rule from 1540 to 1545. Sher Shah Suri organized the Postal System of India, Issued the Rupee currency, Extended the Grand Trunk Road from Chittagong to Kabul, and also established the land department.
