Bolt Action battle report - 1943: Italy. "Sicily" pt.1 800pts GBR vs ITA

Svein and Anders plays scenario #12 "Bridgehead" from the "Duel in the sun" theatre book (Many thanks to Stewart Larking and Osprey).

Afther the initial landings on Sicily one of the main objectives for the Allies was to capture the Ponte Grande bridge to secure swift deployment of forces further inland.

In a daring raid, airlanding British soldiers captured the bridge and defused the bombs placed by the Italians.
They then endured intense fighting for hours while the Italians desperately tried to recapture the bridge, all the time waiting for much needed reinforcements!

This battle actually took place during WW2, and this battle report recreates the events quite accurately!
