BIOGRAPHY
One of Wink's greatest assets is his authenticity and his street credibility, which is evident in the lyrics from this
promising young rapper. The man behind the music is so much more than the all so common marketing ploy hinging on
another gangster rapper story. The story is an inspirational one, detailing his struggle from his hard knock life
beginnings. WINK grew up in BK's notorious Flatbush section, where he witnessed firsthand the crack epidemic and the
rise of the Blood & Crip Gang cells in New York City. Wink, an eighties baby, lived a life where both parents were
intertwined in gangs, drugs, and violence. The big homie was arguably one of the founding members of the 21st Street
UGC Crip set in one of NYC's Crip strongholds, Flatbush Brooklyn.
As a young teenage kid held by the grips of his evolving environment, Wink got caught up in a life of bangin', slangin',
robbery, violence and mayhem. Karma eventually returned violently, when on September 18, 1999 Wink was shot point
blank in the back of the head by a rival gang member. Wink survived the surreal ordeal. By the years end Wink began
serving an eight year sentence for an armed robbery conviction. This is where the story takes a twist! Instead of
continuing his violent beginning he began rapping while incarcerated and there it was born his passion for rap.
After his release from prison is what makes this not just another gangster rapper story. Wink gives back to his
community by mentoring young potential gang bangers and he sponsors annual block functions for the youth, as he did
at the " I Love My Life " Tour with Erica Ford. He is now a positive role model empowering his community, which was the
original concept behind the CRIP organization. He is also currently attending Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn where he
is working on his Bachelor's degree.
Now as for his music, Wink released his first Mixtape for the summer 2009 entitled Gangs Of NY hosted by 105 FMs
SuperStar Jay. He also appeared on DJ P Cuttas 2009 summer mixtape entitled StreetWars22. Wink also got exposure on
WorldstarHiphop.com where he received in excess of 170,000 hits in less than a week for a controversial video interview
where he dissed rapper Red Café for not reaching out to his community. Wink has also received exposure on
HiphopBeef.com
In 2010 and 2011 Winkloc's Locomotive street albums were well received by New York City streets as well as HOT 97's
DJ KaySlay who has frequently aired songs from Locomotive such as "All On The Line", "All On The Line Remix"- feat
Push! Montana, Ra Diggs, Uncle Murda, "Jealousy", & "Off My Shoulders" and most recently "Black Hoody Music" off of
his newest tape, LOCOMOTIVE 2.
While working on his second tape, Locomotive 2, Wink has become strongly affiliated with CTE World and Young Jeezy's
camp. Wink is rumored to become one of the newest members of CTE World, becoming label-mates with the likes of
Freddie Gibbs and Slick Pulla. Also, Wink has appeared on songs with Push! Montana, Shoota from Byrdgang, Glasses
Malone from Cash Money, Ra Diggs, Uncle Murda, Maino, and Kenny Kingpin just to name a few. Wink has an incredible
ability to paint pictures of the many tragedies and triumphs he has encountered throughout his life with the use of his
music.
Wink ended 2011 with a bang. Jeezy shouted Wink out on the Uncle Murda's "Warning" Second Remix featuring
Mariah Carey, Jeezy, and 50 cent. 50 Cent raps about Ferraris and poppin' bottles, while Jeezy is the only one who
brings any intensity to his performance, as he spits, "I gets money, I gets money, ooh, I'm having paper / Man, I'm saying
f— the playing, oh these n—as haters / When they thought that I was over, I'm like ooh you n—as trippin' / I'm out with
Wink Loc in Brooklyn, like ooh these n—as crippin'." Wink also got press at the years end in Kay Slay's Straight Stuntin
Magazine Issue #20 which hit newsstands late December 2011. 2012 is the breakthrough year.
