Nuc Building, Queen With a Poor Aim, and Bruising Honey - Long Form Video 11/5/25

Hello everyone,

In this video I’m getting some nucs built and ready for a batch of new honeybee queens arriving next week—always an exciting time of the season!

There’s plenty of other interesting bits in this one too:

* I check in on a recently swarmed hive to look for signs of eggs and see how the new queen might be getting on.
* I come across a strange laying pattern in one colony—eggs on the side of the cell, which looks suspiciously like a laying worker, but the queen’s still present. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

Also—bit of good news—I’m finally catching up on my editing backlog. I’m only one week behind now, which is a minor miracle for this time of year!
