How to keep your Razerblade laptop running COOL while Gaming!

Want to keep your Razerblade gaming laptop cool while gaming, prevent overheating, and protect your laptop's battery from capacity loss, bulges, and swelling? Razer batteries have a warning that says that batteries should not be exposed to temps exceeding 65C. In this video, I will show how I achieved this feat through a multi-step process. I have verified these steps with Razer as well:

- Download the latest Nvidia Drivers - Raise your laptop above the surface (preferably with a portable laptop stand)
- Set the maximum processor state to 99% (or lower but risk performance loss)
- Either one of the following:

a) Manually crank up the fan speeds to about 5000 RPM using Razer Synapse software
b) Use Razer's "Boost" feature (Not Razer Cortex). This will push the fans to work harder whenever needed, and in my opinion, is the better option than running the fans at full speed.

Update: after trying different games, I came to the conclusion that boosting may not work well with all games (such as Cyberpunk 2077), and in fact may have the opposite effect because of the increased wattage. Try manually boosting the fans along with the other solutions, and see how it goes.

The result would be running the laptop at a cool 65C, which is the window threshold. Enjoy longer battery life and happy gaming! Don't forget to like this video and subscribe to my channel! Disclaimer: This video is not meant to diagnose or prevent any problem. Following the instructions in this video will not harm your laptop, but proceed at your own risk. CPU temps are different than battery temps as battery temps are located away from the CPU cores, but these temps are indicative of the ambient heat. Overall, high temps will lead to battery deterioration and loss of capacity. Use common sense and temp monitoring programs to evaluate your temps.

I do apologize for not clarifying in the video that battery temps are not the same as CPU temps. I actually found out later, but I suspect the difference may be more than 15C. However, you can feel the ambient heat and it would definitely impact the battery. I'd say CPU temps up to 75C may be fine. I play Cyberpunk 2077 with those temps because it's a graphics intensive game, and the temps won't go down.

Even if the battery is away from the CPU cores, you can feel all that ambient heat! Unfortunately, there is no battery sensor for Windows laptops- unlike what you see in iStat Menus for Macs for example. You can't really know if battery temps are nearing 65C, but you can reduce overall laptop temps. These kind of temps may not have an effect on your laptop in the short term, but in the long term, like 6 months or more, you might see signs of deterioration (swelling, reduced charging capacity, etc...). Always try to maintain lower temps, max at 75C. Remember: the lower your temps, the better for your battery.
