On the January 24th 1989 episode of LATER WITH BOB COSTAS, American rocker DEL SHANNON discusses his rise from Battle Creek bar band to charting star within weeks in 1961. The next year Shannon was touring the U.K. sharing bills with The Beatles. He relates his relationship with John Lennon from pre-Beatlemania in the United States. Shannon also claims to have been closer to Brian Epstein than the Fab Four! Surprised Costas did not go down that road deeper.
